In 2011 Ashley was cast to portray Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and gained recognition in 2012, when she was cast to voice several bears as well as rats in the hit animated adventure comedy Ernest & Celestine in which were Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the relationship between Ernest the bear, and Celestine the mouse. It was awarded 14 among 29 nominations which included an Oscar.
